Whatsapp Will Be Ending Support On The Following Devices By The End Of The Year

But anniversary dates are also an opportunity to look back. When we started WhatsApp in 2009, people's use of mobile devices looked very different from today. The Apple App Store was only a few months old. About 70 percent of smartphones sold at the time had operating systems offered by BlackBerry and Nokia. Mobile operating systems offered by Google, Apple and Microsoft – which account for 99.5 percent of sales today – were on less than 25 percent of mobile devices sold at the time.
As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. So, by the end of 2016, we will be ending support for WhatsApp Messenger on the following mobile platforms:

BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60
Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
Windows Phone 7.1

While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future.
This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.

Having subscribed for the plan you want, follow below simple settings.

SETTINGS TO USE ETISALAT BIS ON ANDROID
You will need to create a new APN settings on your Etisalat line via your phone Mobile network settings in this format;
Go to settings > more > mobile networks > APN

Create the new APN using below settings

Name: Etisalat bis

APN: blackberry.net

Proxy : 10.71.170.5

Port : 8080

Click SAVE

You should see your phone connect and brows via Etisalat BIS plan

You can now report any bank that charges you excessively to CBN

Nigerians has now been given the freedom to report any bank in which they are doing business with that Charges them illegally or Excessively direct to Central Bank Of Nigeria.

You can recall that recently Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) gave similar privilege to Nigerians making use of telecommunication networks which includes me and you that are using cell phones to Report Any network operator that Charges Excessively or deducts money illegally from their SIM cards.

HINT: To report any GSM network provider like MTN, Glo, Etialat or Airtel to NCC for extra charges or disturbing SMS, just dial this toll free number 622 to lay your complaint.

Now that we have the privilege to report our banks that Charges us illegally, I think it will put some fear on them and make them cautious next time. It's another good news from the government.

According to what CBN representative Ibrahim Mu'azu said; "in a bid to put a stop to the series of complaints from bank customers alleging excessive and, in some cases, illegal charges from their respective banksaround the country, the central bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged bank customers to report illegal and excessive charges by their banks to it (CBN)."

You as a bank customer is obliged to send your complaints to the Director, Consumer Protection Department with this email cpd@cbn.gov.ng

This is our right and our turn to stand for our right. Let's not sit and watch others mess around with our hard earned money.

How to check your mobile number on Mtn, Etisalat, Airtel and glo

Today am going to  post out the Nigerian network codes for checking our mobile number  on mobile phones.
1. Airtel
To check and know your own mobile phone number
on Airtel Nigeria, simply dial *746#  Your screen displays your own
mobile number.
2. MTN
There are many ways out here. One, dial *123# and
follow onscreen guide. Respond with option 1 and
send to select My tools option. Then select option
5 in My Tools to demand for My Number. And
snap! Your own mobile number is displayed on
your screen.
One other method is to simply send a call me back
SMS to a nearby MTN subscriber, as you don't have
airtime credit to call. *133*theotherMTNnumber#
And the message received at the other end will
display your number. Or simply dial *123*1*1# and it will display your number.
3. GLO
Dial *135*8# and you see your number will be
displayed on your screen.
4. Etisalat
Simply dial *248# and your number will be
displayed. That's all!
